Next to Alver Valley Country Park lies 67 acres of beautiful, rich natural space in the form of the Wildgrounds. It’s recognised as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in large part due to its ancient oak woodland. Some trees are thought to be around 500 years old. They support a wider range of wildlife, including purple emperor butterfly, woodpecker and stag beetles. No dogs allowed other than assistance dogs.
